An eternity in hell

We had to change at Dubai. It was 7am and already 44 degrees. We had 1.5 hours to get to the other gate, so it was always going to be tight. We had parkas on. They were removed during our half hour walk to the train. Which took us to another terminal and another 40 min walk in the opposite direction to train we just got off. Finally the gate. A quick passport check and on to a 20 min bus ride. At one point it looked as if we were about to merge on to the freeway. I was checking out the driver for ISIL ensignias but he made a last moment right and pulled up next to our plane. Neither of us could sleep on the seemingly never ending 7 hour haul to Copenhagen.
