Headed to the famous church on the hill. We were given an exercise to take a long exposure of the church with dramatic clouds behind.
I had the ND400 filter on the front to reduce light 8 times, but no matter what I did I couldn't get the exposure up to more than 1 second. One of the pros asked me why I was using F4 aperture instead of F16. My immediate red face indicated the answer.
However, I could still only manage 15 seconds. Not enough for the conditions. I needed to add an additional ND8, but of course, that was left in the Hotel room. They could have told me before we left the hotel.
We then moved on to some architectural shots inside and outside of the Exhibition building. Architecture not my thing.
I eventually noticed the pools of water in my runners. Apparently, my ski pants are not ideal for a sunny day in Iceland.
I changed to something more appropriate before we headed for dinner. It was a 30 minute hike across town, but at least it was all downhill.
It was a 10 course Tapas meal, each course more delicious than the previous one. But after 3 hours sitting on a solid wooden chair we needed a soft bed.
The hike back was all uphill. I felt like the weak straggler in the herd. A prime candidate for any lurking predators. Once we got to the Hotel we were told we had to be on the bus at 8 am. Which left 7 hours max for sleep. I wish we had known this before the restaurant so we could have left early.
