This morning, the inevtiable happened. One persons camera was dead, for the rest of its life. Someone else lost a lens hood in a pristine fissure lake. Two lens filters were broken (one mine). I also lost a rear lens cap while stumbling around in the rain someplace. It will be interesting to see the camera gear death toll by the end of this.
Day 2 was mostly sunny, no rain worth mentioning. The pro leading this tour was not happy. He likes clouds and storms. The skies were no good for him. Everyone else was joyous.
It was a really good day and in beautiful places.
Dinner time. It was 5 degrees outside. I wasn't going to be tricked twice. I prepared for the 30 minute hike by donning my snow pants and several warm layers.
We arrived at the restaurant 3 minutes later. It was 35 degrees inside. It's an Icelandic and Scandinavian thing.
We took it in turns to go outside for a while to recover, then back for the next course. The food was superb.
