The End

Disembarked the ship. Both of us suffering from a virus that makes everything hurt. My leg pain was getting bad.

Dropped off our bags at the hotel. Check in is 5 hours away.

Maybe a walk, with lightened load, to the art gallery will help?

Got halfway and just sat on a bench in the Botanic gardens. Saw a red squirrel and met another Republican.

Tenderly continued to gallery. The pedestrian crossings are on short cycles and not disabled friendly. I have to ignore the pain and shuffle quickly.

Tricia was clearly loving the gallery. I collapsed on a hard bench in room 3. Tricia would collect me shortly.

After 2 hours, I was cycling between pain, boredom, and desperately needing a dump. We had free WiFi so I optimistically emailed her for permission to go to the loo and cafe. Half an hour later I got the wondrous reply of yes and that she would meet me at the cafe.

Tricia got to the cafe 20 minutes before me. I was delayed because each time I relaxed, my leg would spasm in extreme pain and clamp my exit shut tight.

I eventually got lucky and escaped the loo.

At the cafe, I was forced to tell Tricia the holiday was over. No Norwegian fjord drive and no Iceland.
